(2012) Timelapse

Testi

Time is mine
All that I can see
I try to keep it near
all the things I keep
they seem to slip away

Countless drops of minutes a day
in a pool of thoughts they wait astray
I know I'm not here to stay
but I have to remind you

CHORUS
Time is mine
as much as I'm afraid
I just won't give up the fight

I used to lay back
and let it fill my mind
it's getting harder
this habit's getting tighter
the borderline cracks
between chances to find
the pressure's higher
this way of life will kill me

CHORUS

All that you can see
I hope that you keep it close to you
it's for us to feel and see
they stole me I won't steal more
what a pleasure to contemplate
seconds to live but hours to die
anytime, but when, can you tell?
I'll tell you as long as you know

CHORUS

This kind of life will drive me nuts
Higher ground
I've been walking the fine line
crossed to see what's already there
I've been waiting for consense got me a pat in the back
oh! Don't I see I'm a man
it's a little frustrating if I look back

Uh, I don't understand, uh, why it's still the same

Life is just the strangest thing:
it takes away more than you think.
And time is keeping me from you
I'll have to figure what to do

CHORUS
Leave this emptiness behind
your life streams on higher ground
if you come I'll be right there
I'll take you back if you don't care
Opened the window just to catch some fresh air
(I've been walking the fine line: crossed to see)
you won't believe what I saw coming out of there:
(oh! Don't I see)
a strange little figure, a bird with no wings to fly
(I've been waiting for consense: got me up)
he was an old friend of mine trying to confort my life

CHORUS
The great divide between us
Don't be a fool
this is all you've got
it's a wonderful life
don't be a tool
use your head to rise
and learn to look back

Believe in yourself
it's the will to survive
it will keep you alive
and hit the walls
everytime you fall down
you will rise back stronger

But as soon as I look back

I can see all my mistakes
so many tears that I lost track
they just make me regret

So many tiresome speeches
never knowing how to tell
if I ever got your love
if you ever understood

CHORUS
We have to find some common ground
we gotta leave this all behind
we outta try to understand
this great divide between us

Believe in yourself
it's the will to survive
it will keep you alive
and hit the walls
everytime you fall down
you will rise back stronger

But as soon as I look back

I can see all my mistakes
so many tears that I lost track
they just make me regret

So many tiresome speeches
never knowing how to tell
if I ever got your love
if you ever understood

CHORUS
Give up
Sometimes I wish I had no heart
no tears then I would not bleed nor cry
wishing that I could mend this scar
then maybe we could be friends

But the thought of you makes me shiver
this melancholy's tearing me apart
can't take this pain any longer
I feel like I'm going down a ravine

I’ll keep you always in my heart
but now I must give up on you
oh baby no!
I have to face the truth
there's nothing else I can do

Holding tight to what's left of myself
you took away the rest
a fake smile: it’s my best to hide this empty shell
it's crushing down without your love

Dusk is falling over this story
I wish I could close my eyes and sleep
maybe erase my memory
but I keep on falling down this ravine

You'll be forever in my soul
but now I must give up on you
oh baby no!
I have to open my eyes and
try to make up for my life

Nothing will be the same
now that I had a taste of this feeling
all the world seems so pale

so pale without you
I must give up on you
I must stop loving you
I must give up on
give up on you
I must stop loving you
Time to make
I came back home today
leaving behind all sorts of fears
I think I found my way
through this maze of crazy ideas
once upon a time
I was lazy, selfish, introverse
but maybe now I know
there's so much more that I can learn

I came back home today
knowing I would start all over
one thing I can say
there's no reason I should take cover
will I be strong enough
to never keep it all inside
but now I found a friend
or maybe I’m just too full of myself

Seagulls maybe noisy
but they're always in the sky
you may say I'm crazy
and maybe that ain't a lie
rain is falling upside down
but I never mind
I don't care that's my way
to mistake blacks for whites

And do you know why?
all that I had learned
was all a lie

CHORUS
But now I'm back
I maybe found my way
I’m back on track
it's a brand new day
now I'm back
leave my fears behind
all that I can say
it's time to make

Music, art and poetry
never satisfied your taste
you may see me as a memory of your past
seagulls maybe noisy
but they're always in the sky
you may say I'm crazy
and maybe that ain't a lie

Would you say that I might fail
if I told you that I am fine?
would you say my hope's too high
if I told you that I'm not blind?

CHORUS
Leaving
D'you think it's easy to find a way
to live your life on the edge of a razor blade
I've seen him take off on the wings of a new crusade
letting me know there was nothing more to be said

We laughed at life and, fools, we said goodbye
he took his guitar by the neck and whispered in sorrow

CHORUS
You're on your own my friend, just hold on
don't let life drag you down: you've got style
be yourself but be smart: don't you let go
as this snow you're white but now it's time for leaving

And I was shivering as he spoke
I couldn't help feeling I was being hit by a stroke
and I couldn't find no words to describe this empty hollow void

I'm trying to tell you
I'm sorry for you
I'm not frowning at you
why should you care

Smoking a cigarette once more
shooting some pictures of some souls
watching a lifetime that goes by
these are my words, what do you say?

D'you think it's easy to find a way
to live your life on the edge of a razor blade
I've seen him take off on the wings of a new crusade
letting me know there was nothing more to be said

Smoking a cigarette once more
shooting some pictures of some souls
watching a lifetime that goes by
these are my words, what do you say

CHORUS
More
It's getting to the end
I can see there's no way to pretend
I thought that I could face my consequence and I
I'm stepping out I'm realizing this cannot work out
didn't give it much of a thought
I’ll tell you what this is all about

The path you laid before me,
I thought I really got to see
the way you did approach to me:
it seemed it lead to a melody

It occurred to me
it's not as it seems
it is not how I feel
and that's 'cuz I need

More: I need more, I need more
I guess I'm just too complicated
more: I need more, I need more
and that's why I gotta be moving on

I did what I had to do
got to stop fooling around with you
and when I look back
I don't feel sad
it was just like you said:
together we did great
the colors of our painting,
vibrating through the air

The range of colors: it is off
I've got the right to turn 'em on
the way you said they would mix
they could have lead to a masterpiece

It occurred to me
that's not what I see
it is not how I feel
and that's 'cuz I need

More: I need more, I need more
I really need to keep on pushing
more: I need more, I need more
I’m sorry gotta get on with the show ‘cuz I need
more: I need more, I need more
I guess I'm just too complicated
more: I need more, I need more
and that's why I gotta be moving on
To be yours
Take my hand, you're more than a friend
more than a sister: you're my mistress
walk together to a distant land
this journey's going to take a lifetime

You're my queen of darkness in light
you're giving me reason to believe
and darkness's a surrounding feeling
you're showing me the light in this

CHORUS
It's such a wonder where we'll end up, yeah
your lips are touching mine so fine
I love the feeling to be worried about you, yeah
To be yours

You're the one I'll follow 'till the end
this is my way to tell you that I care
when I look back I understand
I've never felt so alive as I am now

You're my queen of darkness in light
you're giving me reason to believe
and darkness's a surrounding feeling
you're showing me the light in this

CHORUS
King Time’s dilemma
There's great tension, the king's gone mad; the whole town's outraged, it's so sad. "What's he done now how could this be true?"; "Some say he's been betrayed and fooled!"
The gods’ mixed thoughs could not deduce the matter he could not elude. He was about to spit it all out. That's when the queen showed up and shout

Queen Space: "Will you hear what I have to say? The situation's in our hands! Universe resides in space and Multiverse resides in time!"

King Time: "I told you about this conflict: I told you the truth. I can turn back, but I can give you a clue (it's for your own good). My love I'm much older than you, it can't be like this! If I change dimension to set things straight it will be the same"

The gods would know it's true: someone stole the king's rule. The will to turn back time, the skill to bend even space. The thing they didn't know: the king was getting old. This was the thousandth time, the queen was the only one... Queen Space: "Will you hear what I have to say? The situation's in our hands! Universe resides in space and Multiverse resides in time!"

King Time: "I told you about this conflict: I told you the truth! If I change dimension to set things straight it will be the same"

It will be the same
It will be the same. No no no no!
Western torture
It's a constant fight
between your will and mine
I'm the one who's bleeding inside
you're the one who's gripping tight
my neck is screaming in pain
I feel the absence of faith
you get to make up the rules
and you think you're making a fool out of me

Waiting for a sign to go off to battle
exploiting all my weaknesses
They're using you
they're killing you
can't get any more destructive
they're righteous: no
peace bringers: no
gettin' tired of that western torture

Watch them on the telly, telling you all would be fine
if you just put all your money inside of them jar
they talk about bringing justice with a sentence of death
they are leveling our minds like water on a beach of sand (and they are)

Waiting for a sign to go off to battle
exploiting all my weaknesses

You can try to find another reason in their lies
you can try to climb
another treason will defy

It's the new life you've given up your youth to fly
will you come around
or will you crush into the ground
We shall break our cage
You, I guess you think you're always right
can you tell your wrongs from rights?
there has been a time when you were a child
just obeying you instinct to survive

Me, I guess I just never grew up
always living in my own world
believing a ghost would help me to fight my own wars

What gives you the right to justify these acts of war?
maybe it ain’t the time to stick your nose into others' business

Can't you see you got them crying
why won’t you realize
your vision is insane
let me help you understand

All around us people dying
society is justifying
medias lying, all are denying
it's time for us to wake and save our future

but your steel heart just can't beat that fast
your feet can't feel the quaking earth
your skin’s so cold, you just can't feel
that you're not alone, that you're not alone

One day some friend of mine told me that we were born in a box
spending our lifetimes looking through a caleidoscope

I think it's true for you
I think it's true for you
for people like you

Things will change one day
we shall break our cage
